12 tips for blended learning
Summary

Are you at the forefront of fashion? Do you know that the blue iceberg is In this season, unlike wine? What pair of sneakers should I wear? What music to listen to? How do you get popular on TikTok?

Ha. If so, you don't even know what color, wine is. Or you don't have a TikTok account.

And that's really the... it's the... it's the... it's nothing at all. We don't care. In fact, you can't beat the crap out of it. Metaphorically, huh, otherwise it stings a bit.

On the other hand, there is a trend that you should follow: that of Blended Learning. This is a form of so-called blended learning, a mixture of face-to-face and e-learning. More and more companies are adopting this method, which is bearing fruit in terms of return on investment.

So it's more interesting than the iceberg/wine-wine sneakers on TikTok, right?

So, rather than giving you bad advice on how to dress, we offer good tips to ensure the success of your blended learning course!

A - Start at the beginning

  1. Train your learners in blended learning. You didn't get it all right the first time (don't lie). You must therefore let them get used to the tool, otherwise 50% of your training will be made up of technical questions about the process.

  2. THE. SCHEDULE. Not too fast, not too slow. Exercises, but not too much. And missing a professional event is out of the question. You got it: you will have to be adaptable.

  3. Take the time to explain to the learners why they are there, what are the objectives of the training... Remember that, the objectives: we will talk about them again.

B - Know where we are going

  1. There are teaching methods to be preferred in business, you still have to know which one we are going to apply! Don't try to apply twelve at the same time, it's confusing.

  2. You're going to have to come up with a curriculum plan, of course. It must be clear to learners: take the time to discuss it, or even modify it according to their needs or prior knowledge.

  3. And so, the goals. These should be measurable and defined from the start. They should also be in line with learners' goals. Talk to them about it so you don't discover along the way that you've been too ambitious or too cautious.

C - Communicate

  1. Do not overlook social learning, which allows learners, among other things, to share knowledge and thus save time and know-how.

  2. Control your remote communication tools: do tests, and plan several channels to join in the event of failure of one of them.

  3. Remember to manage the conversations on the messaging systems dedicated to training: the trainer also has the role of a blended learning facilitator.

D - Leave traces

  1. On the messaging systems mentioned above, give news regularly: your learners will not be lost in the program.

  2. Give a summary/report of your training: the main ideas, sources, links to the examples mentioned... Whatever the format: classic presentation, video, podcast, podcast, comic book (and why not? We call it story learning), the choice is yours.

  3. Do not hesitate to stay in touch, even from afar (for example via LinkedIn) with your learners. With social learning, you may well learn from them!

Blended learning is an extremely adaptable form of pedagogy, and while there are limits to blended learning, it opens up a wide range of possibilities.

Besides, TikTok was laughed at, but if the social network does not disappear, its users will grow. And maybe one day some, who have become trainers, teachers, training managers or even HR, will promote their curriculum there. With virtual reality. And high-performance AIs, and technological innovations that we're not even considering yet.

That being said, the main advance that can be predicted in the near future for blended learning is the end of the COVID-19 crisis. During face-to-face sessions, you will no longer have to force your voice muffled by your mask.

Aaaah... eagerly.
